Pipe Bursting is a
standard and safe technique that can be applied to any
pipeline made of fracturable material such as concrete, clay or
iron. It allows us to replace existing sewer piping that is either
worn or incapable of meeting the needs of the growing community. In
the pipe bursting process, a new heavy duty polyethylene pipe is
pulled through an old pipe – bursting the old pipe into pieces using
a high-powered tool with special bursting heads that smash through
the old pipe while pulling through the new replacement pipe. As the
new pipe is being pulled through, pieces of the old pipe are forced
out and absorbed into the surrounding soil.
