- Education – The Compliance
Inspectors are committed to educating the public on the harmful effects
of fats, oils, and greases on the environment. We have created educational
material for FSEs, single and multi-family residence, and schools. We have
set up different meeting locations, dates, and times to educate FOG
generators on the new permitting process and the proper disposal of
FOG.
- Inspection – Our goal is to
inspect every fats, oils, and greases generator in DeKalb County, and assist
them in coming into compliance with the county's codes and
ordinances.
- Permitting – Dekalb County
has established a permitting program. Every FOG generator shall be issued
a FOG permit number in order to be open for business. This will make the
inspection and evaluation process more efficient.
- Enforcement – Compliance
Inspectors will continue to enforce the codes and ordinances of DeKalb
County. Every FOG generator shall come into compliance, or face fines,
and/or even jail time with court probation monitoring.
